Here
are some tips and techniques for the maintenance of microscopes and sterilizers:
|
- Microscope
-
Wipe immersion oil off the front of the objective while not using.
-
Use a cover glass while viewing urines and other liquids. Most objectives
are designed for using a cover glass, plus it will help keep the front
lens of your objective clean.
-
See dust specks on the eyepiece? Use a rubber syringe or compressed
air to remove. If necessary, wipe with lens paper and a small amount
of lens cleaner.
-
Use plastic/nylon cover. A cloth cover will hold and leave dust.
-
Does your microscope use a halogen lamp? Be sure and use a tissue while
handling the lamp - do not let your fingers touch the lamp.
